This is my graduation piece. I studied the chinese artist Wang Keping, and focused on his political period early in his life, when he fought for getting more freedom in art under the chinese regime. When I made this sculpture I was more inspired by his newer works, which focus less on politics and more on the aesthetics of the human body. The sculpture tries to show the fearful and alienated pose of a stigmatized person, a beggar, fallen out of the system.
