As part of the Young Angels Theatremakers Awards Program, run by Company of Angels and The Junction in Cambridge, Imploding Fictions are producing an adaptation of Norway.Today by Igor Bauersima. The process is mentored by John Retallack, artistic director of Company of Angels.
Norway.Today is a fusion between live theatre and cinematic imagery. Two teenagers, Julie and August, find each other via an internet chat room, with the intent of commiting suicide - together. They meet at the foot of a desolate and wintry cliff in the Norwegian wilderness, and laden with backpacks, a tent and a camcorder to document their journey, they begin the steep ascent. Norway.Today is a tale about a paradoxical will to death and passion for life.
