The Hamletmachine & The Man in the Elevator takes the viewer on an eclectic theatrical journey in which the next turn can never be predicted. Teasing and testing the spectators imaginations the play unfolds as a wild nightmare which can be at once haunting and beautiful, funny and brutal, incomprehensible and sincere. The archetypes Hamlet/Ophelia, Man/Woman sit amongst the ruins of their own deconstructed play text. Peeling away layer after layer of fictive masks and historical ballast they search for their identity and task amidst the autonomous machinery of time.
The Hamletmachine & The Man in the Elevator is part of Imploding Fictions repertoire, and more performances are being planned, both in Norway and in other locations in Europe and the rest of the world. If you want to know more about our production, you can contact us on improfilm@hotmail.com.
